Ten months into this project, and I’ve been contacted in person by two authors now in response to my reviews! Woohoo! I am so ridiculously excited about that, it’s a little embarrassing. Granted, I’m not blurbed (yet), but I honestly don’t care. I mean, I read books and write about my thoughts on those books, and people pay attention? This used to be a pipe dream!
Anyhoo – this was what was waiting for me in my in-box this afternoon:
Dear Michelle,
When my book, Annie’s Ghosts: A Journey Into a Family Secret, came out in May, you were among the first book bloggers to review it. I just wanted to let you know that the American Booksellers Association has chosen Annie’s Ghosts for the Independent Booksellers Fall/Winter List of Recommendations for Reading Groups, in the “A-List for Nonfiction” category. Thank you for helping to extend the book’s reach.
Here’s the link to the Fall/Winter list, in case you want to tell readers of Michelle’s Masterful Musings about it or any other books that made the list.
Best,
Steve Luxenberg
Isn’t that cool? I reviewed his book in May and have seen it on the shelves in book stores since then. I honestly have no idea how much influence I have, but I am impressed that he thought to reach out to little old me in his appreciation. It definitely made my day!

Jodie – Thanks! I love it and still get a secret shiver of thrill when I think about it. I love this blogging thing!!
Congratulations – isn't it nice!
stacybuckeye – How cool would that be?!
Very nice! Next thing you know you'll be 'blurbed' 🙂
Hope – Thanks! I thought so but I think most people would feel I've lost my marbles!
So VERY cool!
Thanks! Sometimes, it really is the little things!
Michelle, that is so cool! Congrats!
