BBAW is coming! Remember that nominations close on the 15th and everything will be a flurry of activity after that! (I’m so excited!!)
I’ve seen some questions floating around about Book Blogger Appreciation Week, so here’s a way to learn more about it from people who participated last year!
If you were a part of BBAW last year, please answer these simple questions on your blog and drop your link into Mister Linky so that others can learn all about BBAW! Feel free to tag other bloggers to play along! (Please note: only sign the Mister Linky if you have completed the meme. Registration for BBAW can be found
here.)
1) What was the highlight (something that happened, a post, an activity, etc.) of BBAW for you last year?
2) What is one new blog you discovered during BBAW last year?
3) What tips would you share to help others get the most out of their BBAW experience?
But wait!! We don’t want those of you who didn’t participate to feel left out, so if you didn’t participate last year, how about these questions?
1) What has been one of the highlights of blogging for you?
2) What blogger has helped you out with your blog by answering questions, linking to you, or inspiring you?
3) What one question do you have about BBAW that someone who participated last year could answer?
I missed this meme when it was first posted. Actually, I completely skipped over the section about those who didn’t participate last year. Oops! Note to self: I need to stop reading so darn fast!
As I started my blog with the new year, I did not participate in BBAW last year, but I am very excited about doing so this year, in whatever capacity I can.
1) What has been one of the highlights of blogging for you?
The highlight has to be the fabulous books that I’ve picked up due to other bloggers’ reviews and recommendations. I am on such a book high right now because the books I’ve been reading lately have been so fantastic! Because blogging has forced me out of my tight little classics-only regime, I feel like a whole new world of literature has been opened up for me, and I am reveling in it. The sheer number of great books out there is definitely one of the highlights.
2) What blogger has helped you out with your blog by answering questions, linking to you, or inspiring you?
The one blogger who has taken the time to answer my questions, point people to my direction, provide support and be an all-out friend as I explored this world of blogging has to be Stephanie over at Stephanie’s Confessions of a Book-a-Holic. She has been there from the first moment I created my blog, commenting on and supporting my posts. She’s given me links to check out to see about ARCs. She even posted about me on her own blog, in an effort to generate some interest. And she sent me a copy of the ARC Catching Fire as it traveled across the country to different bloggers. That was completely unexpected but entirely appreciated! Given her hectic work schedule and family, she didn’t have to take the time to do this. Her support helped keep me going, and I know without a doubt that I would have given up and missed out on this whole new world without her. Thank you Stephanie!!
3) What one question do you have about BBAW that someone who participated last year could answer?
I’m not certain I really have a question as more of a concern. I know that participation is voluntary, as you are available, but just how many activities and such are involved during the week of BBAW? I can imagine that it could get quite time-consuming.
So that’s it! I’m really looking forward to coming together with my fellow book bloggers and celebrating BBAW!!

Diane – yes, it is addictive but in a fun way. And because I'm now writing reviews, I find myself paying attention more while reading. I can't list all the books I've read and promptly forgotten because I didn't discuss them or wasn't required to think about them critically. So, I'm “meeting” new friends and growing as a reader. You can't get much better than that!
I'm thrilled you are enjoying blogging; it's so addictive!
See what I mean about support? 😉 I saw your post on the RIP challenge. The biggest issue is trying to figure out what to read. I'm not certain what qualifies and what doesn't. I know you have tons to recommend. Any quick lists for me that I should consider?
Oh, THANK YOU Michelle! Girl, you know I love you! Your blog is great and everyone should be reading it. You are funny and have some of the most insightful reveiws I've ever read!! And I am so glad you stuck with it!! BBAW will be great and you will meet tons of great bloggers through it.
BTW, I have a challenge that you must join. It is my very favorite of the year. RIP IV is here. Come to my blog to check out Carl's challenge. It's totally for you!
