Hosted by Kathryn from Book Date, this is a weekly event to share what we’ve read in the past week and what we hope to read, plus whatever else comes to mind. Here is what I read the week ending 12 February 2018. To learn more about each book, just click on the book cover!

FINISHED SINCE THE LAST UPDATE:
The Jackaby series is amazing. Each story in the series got better and better, and the last novel? Dang. Intense and powerful and complicated in a good way. It has just about the perfect ending for the series. If only all series could end so well!
DID NOT FINISH:

The March books look good. I can’t believe Clare Mackintosh already has a new book coming out. My, she’s writing fast now! I liked her debut novel but didn’t get her 2nd one. Enjoy your reads.
Thanks, Susan!
Gah! I need my library holds to move so I can get the Dire King. You’re making me jealous. So many March books! I haven’t heard of A Guide for Murdered Children and clearly I have to check that out.
I am so curious about I was Anastasia so I can’t wait to see what you think.
I am excited about my March books. Now I just need to find the time to read them all!
I’m looking forward to reading The Broken Girls and Let Me Lie, among others. I really need to try those Jackaby books. Have a good week!
Thanks, Kay; you too!
I just finished The Flight Attendant…it was fine, but not my favorite Bohjalian thriller. I had some issues with one part of the story.
I wonder if he’s publishing books a little too quickly…a book a year for the past couple years seems a bit fast and the quality seems to go down just a touch with each book.
I was thinking the same thing about how rapidly he is publishing. I wonder that about most authors these days. The emphasis seems to be to publish at Nora Roberts’ rates when that is just not possible for most writers.
I hope the competition weekend went well!! I have been wanting to read The Flight Attendant…I hope it’s good.
Me too! I have heard that it is not one of his best though, so I look to read it with trepidation.
