FINISHED SINCE THE LAST UPDATE:
Elly Blake’s debut novel is reminiscent of Sarah J. Maas’ series about the Fey but don’t let that fool you. Her feisty heroine draws your sympathy, and the story makes it difficult to put down the book for real life.
Irene Winters is back in this latest installment of what I am calling The Adventures of The Librarian. I adore this series, and Ms. Cogman’s latest does not disappoint.
Susan Rivers’ second novel is probably one of the best novels I have read in a long time. It has a little bit of everything and is the epitome of an unputdownable novel.
CURRENT READ:
Another murder mystery and I don’t care. I hope it is as good as it sounds!
CURRENT LISTEN:
I am slowly making progress on this one. The evangelizing still makes me uncomfortable and the vocalizations of the aliens is REALLY cringe-worthy, but I have no idea where the story is going or how it will end. That keeps me listening.
UP NEXT:
The buzz on this one is deafening and it looks to be the type of novel that will rip out your heart and tear it to pieces. I can’t wait.
So, what are you reading?

The Second Mrs. Hockaday is a bit out of my price range…. Audio maybe?
I would definitely try it because the story is just that good!
I have Frost Blood on my pile at work and I almost grabbed it for my train book Friday. Now you’re making me kick myself! All three of your current reads sound good!
I hope you get a chance to read it soon! It might be the mindless reading enjoyment you need right now.
I love how you lead me to books I didn’t know about it. The Second Mrs. Hockaday is so new to me, and I love historical fiction! Have a wonderful reading week!
Anita, this book is completely in your wheelhouse. You will adore it!
I think I need to check out the Susan Rivers book, now! I hope Two Days Gone is a good one. I’ve been seeing it a lot lately.
Yes, you do! It is one you will absolutely love!
You’re the second person I’ve seen rave about Mrs. Hockaday…I’m not a huge historical fiction fan, so I keep shying away, but maybe I should rethink that.
Did you know that Mrs. Hockaday is loosely based on a true story? Does that help your decision-making? It is so well-written and an incredible story that I want everyone to read it!
