I used to do this post and got away from it for whatever reason. This makes me sad because we should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. Also, what better day on which to do this than Fridays? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.
- Pumpkin Spice Lattes – I love fall, and nothing captures the essence of the season like this little piece of heaven in a cup. In my opinion at least. I finally had my first one this week and know that it is just one of many in the upcoming months. It makes me do a little happy dance just thinking about it.
- New Ink – I do love tattoos. They truly are addicting. More importantly, there is no better way to make a statement and provide yourself with daily encouragement. On Wednesday, I finally got around to improving my vampire bites on my wrist. I also ended up getting the controversial NC on my foot as well. I love them both and already have an appointment for my next one.
What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?

I heard that the PSL are new this year and actually have real pumpkin in them. How do they compare to the PSL of two years ago? Last year they used new syrup and in my opinion they sucked majorly. I am doing low sugar and stuff so opt for plain coffee now, without creamer even! What have I reduced myself to?
Oh, I ADORE the new PSL this year! I know what you mean about last year’s version or even two years ago. It got to the point where I was asking them to cut the number of pumps of syrup in half just so that I could drink it without grimacing at the sweetness. This year, they are not nearly as sweet and even have some of the bite of nutmeg and cinnamon that has been missing in past years. I wish you could have one without messing up your system!
I wish I liked pumpkin, because I feel like I’m missing out on the greatest thing ever this time of year. I am not a fan of anything pumpkin tasting, unfortunately. But, I do love what PSL’s mean – fall is hear! I can’t wait to start wearing boots and sweaters again.
I love your new tattoos!! I want to get another one soon. Right now I’m thinking on my wrist.
I understand. I know a lot of people who are not fans of pumpkin. I do think a lot of my fascination with it has to do with the fact that it is a harbinger of fall. I love that season so much!
Thank you! I am always eager to see what new ink others get and what it means to them. The stories behind the tattoos are always so fascinating!
Yay for happy Friday posts! 🙂 I haven’t had a flavored latte in ages, but I’m keen on trying the new pumpkin spice since Starbucks reformulated it! Was the one you had one of the new ones (with pumpkin in it)?
And TATS. I’ve been hemming and hawing over getting another one for the better part of two years, and it sounds like such an ordeal right now (especially because I might like to do something sort of large/detailed). Perhaps one of these days! I saw your IG photos of yours—they look great, though I bet the NC was an owie on your foot.
I have had two in the past week, and both were the new version. I love it. They are definitely not as sweet, which is a good thing. I cannot wait to get my next one!
I love getting tattoos. I will admit it. I am addicted. The NC on my foot was by far the most painful one I have ever endured. I have never had problems sitting still, but that one was causing involuntary flexing of my foot. The artist would hit a spot, and my foot would jerk. It was odd and embarrassing. Plus, it was so incredibly swollen – again a new side effect. Even my husband, who has a full sleeve, was shocked by how much the entire area swelled. I am on day four, and it is just now getting to the point where I can touch it without sharp and sudden pain. I am just trying to make sure it heals as thoroughly as possible. I do not know if I can go through any touch-ups on it.
Ooh, I will definitely check it out! And I’ve heard that the foot tats are especially bad, for whatever reason. I hope it’s feeling even better now!
Foot tats ARE bad. There are a lot of nerve endings in your foot. The one on top of my foot was bad, but this latest was the only one where I was involuntarily twitching throughout the process. It was weird, frustrating, and just so, so painful. No more foot tattoos for me!
I love this! My daughter has her very first soccer game tomorrow- and my husband is coaching. I cannot wait to watch! Definitely makes a Fabulous Friday for me.
Thanks, Amanda! How did she do? How did he do?
Rain out 🙁 Total bummer. On to next weekend!
That’s too bad. Hopefully next week!
I do like pumpkin spice lattes but boy are they sweet! I also love the salted caramel that they come out with this time of year. Mmmm fall!!!!
Mind if I ask if the vampire bites signify anything? Of course “Bite me!” immediately comes to mind. 🙂
This year’s version is delicious! Whatever changes they made are definitely an improvement. If you have not had one yet, you definitely need to do so!
My vampire bites are just a symbol of my love of reading and of my love of vampires. I first read Dracula when I was eight and was immediately hooked on all things pointy-teethed. I have no idea why I enjoy the myth so much, but I cannot get enough of it. So, I got the tattoo to symbolize for my first literary crush. Although, “Bite me!” works really well too!
