I married my best friend. We’ve had our ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. We’ve experienced more time apart than is healthy, including over a year thanks to Jim’s stint in command, moved nine times in seven years, faced losses of jobs, lack of money, lack of time and anything else life could throw at us. He’s been my best friend since we met over 17 years ago, and I consider myself lucky that I get to spend the rest of my life with him.
I love you, Jim!

Thanks, Ceri!
I know this is very belated but Happy Anniversary, you guys! 🙂
My recent post Have You Ever Seen or Heard Anything Like This?
Thanks, Jodie! I agree. My brother-in-law is facing this very issue right now with his wife. I don't understand how you could even consider living together with someone with whom you were not the best of friends. But maybe that's just me.
Congratulations. It's so nice to hear people describe their partners as friends – because really what's the point otherwise?
Congratulations on 15 years! I agree that being best friends has made all the difference, and those bumps we've faced have made us closer and stronger. If we can move cross-country as many times as we did and not call quits, then we can do anything!!
Thanks, Michelle!
Thanks, Lisa! We are independent beings but much prefer being together than being apart. We just work well together. And being apart so often when we were first married has definitely helped us appreciate the other more.
Happy Anniversary!
My recent post WHAT ARE YOU READING ON MAILBOX MONDAY
Congratulations, Michelle! You two really have been through a lot together but I think that's what makes a marriage strong; when you have to rely on each other, you come to appreciate each other so much more.
Thanks, Carol!
Thanks, Amy! He is a fantastic guy, but I am definitely biased!
Congratulations 🙂 That is fantastic that you've been together so long and lived through so much. He must be a fantastic guy!
